Stage is set: Picasso and skylines in Dubai's 'theatrical' new hotel

Business Bay’s latest hotel the Renaissance Downtown has finally landed in Dubai – and has brought with it stunning theatrical design to the city’s huge hotel offering.

Boasting 298 guestrooms – including 65 sumptuous suites – the entire property has been masterfully designed to tell its own story.

Designed by the much-lauded WA International, the hotel sets the stage to inspire a sense of spontaneous discovery at every turn: from the dynamic art installation of Dubai’s cityscape that takes center-stage upon arrival, to a cheeky photography in each guestroom – complemented by a Pablo Picasso’s famed camel sketch reimagined into a 3D iron rod sculpture – the property has been furnished to offer joviality and jest at every turn.

Sprawling windows offer guests views either towards the Burj Khalifa or down the snaking waters of the Dubai Water Canal, with the entire interior placing a focus on materials in their natural state, allowing the towering hotel to give a nod to traditional local design and materials while providing a thoroughly modern décor and feel throughout.

Brian Povinelli, Senior Vice President & Global Brand Leader, Renaissance Hotels, told INDEX: “The spectacular new Renaissance Downtown is theatrical, unexpected and sets the stage for discovering Dubai’s newest neighborhood.

“With its bold, artful design, vibrant global dining scene and engaging experiences around every corner, the hotel embraces a spirit that inspires guests to discover something wonderfully new every time they travel.”
