To celebrate its 50th anniversary Driade - since 2013 a member of ItalianCreationGroup, that embody the excellence and essence of Italian creativity with Valcucine, FontanaArte and Toscoquattro – starts to a Moon Mission.
After 50 years of trend-setting creativity, the brand wanted to challenge itself to the Driade Moon Mission / 50th Anniversary, designed by Gianliugi Ricuperati, from a visionary concept by Piergiorgio Robino, and partnered by IPW Institute for Production of Wonder, Barbara De Micheli and Studio Nucleo.
Authentic bestsellers by Philippe Starck, Naoto Fukusawa and the Italian Maestro Enzo Mari are now part of the set for the short film Moonage Daydream. Set in an imaginary backdrop, the first extraterrestrial mission in history accomplished by Italian design. The first outdoor collection on lunar soil - inspired by studies conducted by the European Space Agency - has been conceived to be entirely produced an realized in 3D on the moon, using regolith, an extraordinary substance present on the moon’s surface.
The new element of the mission is a sort of interplay between two space voyage heroines interpreted by the kenian model Giannina Oteto and Elena Radonicich, the actress who recently rose to success in the Italian film ‘Fabrizio De Andrè. Principe libero’.
Directed by Adriano Valerio on a subject by Gianluigi Ricuperati, the short film Driade is about a dream: we are in 2068, a terrace on the moon, two girls in their breathable space suits – real stage costumes designed by Veronica Toppino – dance and play at the merci of a universal current, in search of what Bruno Munari would have called a “comfortable position”, on the Driade’s masterpieces reinterpreted by Studio Nucleo.
